Birger Christensen 1960s Russian Sable Fur Coat
If you've followed us over the years, you know that we are absolutely nuts for fur! We have a saying around the office - once you go sable, you never go back! It's entirely true and even more so once you've felt the skins on our incredible Birger Christensen Russian sable coat. We purchased this piece from the original owner who purchased it in Copenhagen in the late 1960s. It features all laterally laid glossy pelts with a massive fur backed collar + elbow-length sleeves. Lovely nipped waist with flared skirt. Shimmery silk lining with velvet trim. Excellent condition - fur is soft + supple with no rips, tears, odors or bald spots. There is a very small area on the back of the left elbow that has very, very minor rubbing (it's not even visible in the pics) but is otherwise flawless.
