Magnificent vintage 1970s Janice Wainwright black silk evening gown. Art nouveau inspired construction + by far the best Janice Wainwright piece we've seen! Ultra long black silk under dress hangs to the floor while the wider, sheer silk draped top layer hangs Edwardian-style a few inches above. Sheer massive draped angel sleeves. Plunging V-neck. Entirely embroidered with shimmery sunset-colored floating butterflies + florals. Truly magnificent and most definitely in my top 3 favorite pieces on the site. Excellent condition – we did find 1 small pinhole in the back of the top layer of the dress – pictured. It is virtually invisible while wearing.
